Warid that is the first network to transform to 4G LTE from 2G last year in Pakistan, has spreading its blazing LTE data services in the country vigorously. And as per latest reports, Warid has now launched its 4G LTE internet services in the country’s most visited tourist destination Murree.
According to Warid, its new and existing customer residing in Murree can enjoy 500 MB free LTE internet as a 7 day trial. Also customer who still hasn’t acquired their 4G LTE powered Warid SIM’s can replace them free of cost from Warid customer care centers. Furthermore, can also claim LTE supported handsets as well offered by Warid in affordable prices to experience newly flanged blistering fast 4G LTE – now in Murree as well.
It’s important to keep in view that Warid was the sole mobile operator of the country that haven’t participated in last year’s 3G/4G spectrum auction made by Govt of Pakistan through PTA. Warid even after not participated in this auction but was still able to launch its LTE services in the latter half of last year’s 2014, because of having substantial exiting 2G spectrum due to minimal mobile subscriber base in the country. This allowed Warid to transform from 2G to straight 4G LTE for the reason it had substantial amount of spare 2G spectrum that it utilized for launching LTE in the country.
Although, Zong was the only telecom operator of the country who claimed both 3G as well as 4G spectrum from last year’s auction took place in April, 2014. Thus even after spending millions of rupees for this spectrum purchase, Zong is only managed to persuade minimal amount of 4G customers as per PTA stats. Whereas, because of superiors network and locality of its large urban customers base – Warid was able to covert enormous 66,000 2G customers to 4G LTE till March, 2015.
Presently, Warid after the inclusion of LTE footprints in Murree freshly is now offering its LTE data services in total 8 major cities of Pakistan. These Warid 4G LTE enabled cities of the country involves, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Peshawar, Murree and Quetta.
Thus if Warid continued to broaden its LTE coverage in most of the cities, where it comprises hefty number of its subscriber’s – it’s apparent that Warid will be able to hike LTE customer base further. This will be a huge achievement for an operator – which likes to be remain low key, but offering lucrative superior quality telecom services from the past several years.
